Our Sustainability Targets
New Sustainability Targets have been set for 2011-2015. These ambitious targets are central to the University’s commitment to sustainability. Targets are proposed for reducing stationary energy use and related carbon emissions and for the reduction of water, waste and travel emissions.
| Performance Measure | Baseline Year | Baseline Value | 2015 target |
| Energy Usage GJ/m2 GFA |
2006 | 0.9 GJ/m2 | 0.6 GJ/m2 (33% reduction) |
Nett Energy-related Carbon Emissions - kg/m2 GFA |
2006 | 212 kg CO2-e/m2 | 106 kg CO2-e/m2
(50% reduction) |
| Potable Water Usage | 2006 | 513 ML | 410ML p.a. (20% reduction) |
| Waste % of Total Waste by volume diverted to recycling |
2009 | 16% | 50% |
| Travel, motor vehicle fleet nett fuel emissions after offset | 2007 | Zero nett emissions after GreenFleet offset | Zero nett emissions after GreenFleet offset |
