A Waste Wise Organisation
Metropolitan Waste Management Group has approved The University of Melbourne to be certified as a Waste Wise organisation (Bronze level). The University's Waste Wise certification is now current for two years through to February 2011.
The University of Melbourne is dedicated to diverting the majority of its waste from landfill by reducing waste occurrence, or through reuse or recycling. Recycling and Waste Management is primarily the responsibility of Property & Campus Services. In order to reduce our waste and be a leader in sustainable practices, the University needs help from each individual working and studying here.
All waste disposal at the University is governed by EHS Manual 11.31.New EHS Waste Management. For further information assistance with waste management, consult your EHS Adviser/Manager in the EHS Unit.
