Mobile Phones
Disposal Method: Mobile Muster
Process:
As part of the University's Sustainability Campaign, the EHS Unit wants to help recycle some of the estimated 16 million old mobile phones around the world that are no longer being used. Staff can deposit old mobile phones in the Mobile Muster clear plastic receptacle, located in the Student Union Building next to the lifts.
Anyone unable to get to the Student Union can send old mobile phones through internal mail marked to the attention of:
Mobile Phone Recycling Program
Environment, Health & Safety Unit
2nd Floor, 11-13 Lincoln Square South.
Internal envelopes must weigh no more than 2kg.
What You Can Recycle
- Mobile Phone Handsets (Including PDA's with phone functionality)
- Mobile batteries of all kinds
- Mobile phone chargers and accessories (eg. ear pieces, car kits, cases)
- Display mobile phones
What Is Not Accepted For Recycling
- Non-mobile batteries (eg. alkaline)
- Home phones, pagers, MP3 players, PDA's with no phone functionality
- Any other non-mobile electronic components or devices
