O-Week 2012
For information on the VCAM Southbank Orientation Carnival, check out our photos page on that event.
Parkville Campus, Tuesday 21st February
The Orientation Carnival at Parkville campus was a pedal-powered event. The Future Spark Bike Trailer, laden with 12 bicycles hooked into generators, offset some of the electricity necessary to power the entire University for the day.
Energetic students cycled for the length of one song in order to generate power! Once the students had completed the challenge, they received their free stainless steel water bottle, to promote the use of non-disposable water bottles on campus.
Ultimately it was the Science Faculty that generated the most power, with a culminative total of 767 watts at the end of the day. Overall, 2,573 were generated over the day. This is around 175 hours of television!
We would like to congratulate everyone who was there on the day, and contributed to ensuring that the event was particularly clean and waste-concious.
