Environmental Sustainability Strategic Plan 2011-2015The Environmental Sustainability Strategic Plan provides broad goals the University will work toward over the next five years. Each of the goals forms an objective with priority actions, key performance indicators and responsibilities.
A set of new Sustainability Targets is embedded in the Environmental Sustainability Strategic Plan 2011-2015. These ambitious targets are central to the University’s commitment to sustainability to 2015 and our aspirational goal to be carbon neutral by 2030. Targets are proposed for reducing stationary energy use and related carbon emissions and for the reduction of water, waste and travel emissions.
These targets contribute to enabling our graduates to become “active global citizens” and to “be advocates for improving the sustainability of the environment” and are consistent with the Melbourne Scorecard sustainability indicators, which measure the resource intensity of activities with the greatest environmental impact.
