University of Melbourne staff and students can register for the Australian Campuses Towards Sustainability (ACTS) Future of Sustainability online conference for free.

Register via Zoom by logging in with your University email address, and gain full access to live content and video resource hub. This is the first year this opportunity has been available for free to any University of Melbourne staff or student.

The 20th annual ACTS conference brings together sustainability champions from campus communities across Australasia and the Pacific to share and inspire transformative actions toward a future that is fair, just and equitable for all.

“The Future of Sustainability” calls us to consider how our efforts can progress beyond a do-less-harm paradigm, and support restorative outcomes.

Join for three days of live virtual content, with programming featuring 50 speakers across 25 sessions!

Welcome + Special screening of REGENERATING AUSTRALIA with Damon Gameau

Tuesday 10 May 10–11:15am

Presented by award-winning director, author and activist Damon Gameau (That Sugar Film, 2040), 'Regenerating Australia' is based on a four-month interview process with a diverse group of Australians who shared their hopes and dreams for the country's future. It is a new story for our nation: a story of empowerment. A story of solutions. A story of regeneration.

Panel: Quantification of biodiversity in the Australian tertiary sector

The University of Melbourne and UNSW Sydney share the lessons learned from their experience to build, understand and create plans from biodiversity baseline data. In this session, panellists will share case studies, examples of achievements and showcase the positive and negative findings from their respective projects.

Hear the University's very own Manager of Sustainability Sue Hopkins discuss how universities can reduce waste from retail and student spaces on campus guided by principles of a circular economy, with the University of Queensland and University of Tasmania.

Hear how the University of Otago, University of Queensland and the University of Melbourne are activating their student community through a range of engagement programs.
